About Me
I am a recent MFA graduate in 3D Design from the Univerisity of Iowa. My primary focus is in furniture and small object design. My undergraduate degree is in civil engineering, but I was frustrated with the lack of hands-on fabrication and cookbook methods of problem solving. I became fascinated with bending wood during my first year of graduate school, and have been experimenting with new methods ever since. My research focuses on computer numerically controlled (CNC) methods of bending wood, but I also experiment with traditional methods as well, looking for ways that CNC technology can make the method easier or faster.
